We love this island and the driftwood so much we have bought a static here, available to rent 5 mins from sandown visit us at www.isleofwightcaravanhire.co.uk we love spending a few hours at the driftwood relaxing whilst the kids play on the beach and the folks back home cam watch them live on here !!! I first came to the Isle of Wight with my parents when I was a young child and loved it. I visited every year, first with my parents, then with friends then with my wife. They all loved it too, and my wife and I made the comment back then that \"maybe next time we would have children of our own\". That was indeed the case, and now my children absolutely love it too. We were in the IOW for the solar eclipse with my son, and that is a memory that will stick forever. Every time we arrive at the island, and drive off of the ferry, we comment \"Ahh, we\'re home!\" - maybe one day! Kevin Rose, 06 12 2008

we have been coming to the iow since before we were married, and our children, now aged 24, 20 and 18 have been staying in sandown for our yearly 2 weeks holiday every year since they were babies. we love it there and its just like our 2nd home. its great to be able to see the view of the beach from the driftwood Mrs L Morgan, 19 08 2008

Fantastic view of Sandown beach.
We have been visiting the Isle of wight for 5 years now and all being well will be moving out to live next year.

I came across this webcam by accident.During the 1960s Mum,Dad,Grandma,Grandad and myself (I was between 6 and 15) would holiday at the Malvern Guest House in Leed Street Sandown.I loved every minute of our holidays and look back with affection to these halcyon days.I also had my small radio and could pick up the pirate station Radio London in the beach huts next to the pier.Sadly,with all my family now gone,I look at this webcam with great affection and a real longing for the old days.I live in Spalding,Lincolnshire,and hope to have a coach holiday there next year.Sandown is such a lovely place and the memories of playing on the beach,swimming in the sea,fishing,and watching ships like the Balmoral dock at the end of the pier,are memories that will last for all time.Its so lovely to see.
