Crans-Montana (also known as Crans sur Sierre) is a ski resort in the heart of the Swiss Alps in the Valais, located on a plateau above Sierre at an altitude of about 1,500 m, allowing good view over the Valais Alps and Weisshorn in particular. The Crans Montana ski resort is an amalgamation of the two separate villages of Crans and Montana. The political municipality is known as Montana.
The skiing area of Crans-Montana is composed of 140km of pistes, and is topped by the Plaine Morte at 3000m.
