The former Portuguese colony Macau is located near Hongkong and is now called "Macau Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China". In 2005 the historic centre of Macao has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Our Macau streaming live camera is positioned opposite the famous ruins of St. Paul’s cathedral which is located in the historic centre. Built in the beginning of the 17th century, the church was destroyed by fire three times and rebuilt afterwards. After a last serious fire in the middle of the 19th century only the front wall sustained. Today, the facade with its wonderful statues, portals and engravings, is one of the greatest monuments of Christian architecture in Asia.
