Your Buchanan Street, Glasgow, streaming webcam's view of the street is extremely non-illuminating; the view could be of anywhere, there is no sense of position or aspect with regard to the rest of the street. I'm familiar with Buchanan Street, but I can't figure out where the camera is positioned. A better view might be of the full length of the street, but with most of the frame filled with the foreground (similar to what is shown now) but that the background further down the street indicates not only how busy or quiet the street may be, but lends a sense of the appearance of the street overall, which is surely what someone looking at it from, say, Ulan Bator in Mongolia, would like to see.
