I have also been to The Dam around 5 times now. It's the most diverse place I have ever visited! - It wouldn't matter if you were naked & painted purple - it doesn't matter to anyone. Having travelled quite extensively in my time, this is the one city in the world where as soon as you leave Centraal Station, cross the road to Damrak - all my cares & woes disappear and I relax! - No idea why, it just happens, and every time. I hope things don't change too much in Amsterdam, it's such a unique place and I LOVE it! =) Can't wait to go again. If you've never been, just go, you won't be disappointed. There's so much to see & do.
