The Red Vic B&B is more than just a historic hotel. Located on Haight Street, near Golden Gate Park, it is a peaceful world travelers' hotel; a cozy, colorful and friendly gathering place for people, ideals and ideas for a better world. With a long and interesting history behind it, the Red Vic offers a unique lodging experience, with 18 completely unique and individually designed guest rooms. Guests will find their accommodations infused with the ideology of the '60's; still very much alive at this friendly inn. The very central location of this hotel makes it a great base for exploring this dynamic city, with major bus line passing through the neighborhood.
The proprietor has designed each of the 18 guest rooms to inspire, amuse, relax or enliven its occupants. The Peacock Suite honors the winged creatures of the world. Besides a canopied king bed, it also has two divan beds in the sitting room, and it is appointed with stained glass windows, a Persian Temple light, an antique electric fireplace and a small corner shrine. The Sunshine Room features a canopied queen bed, and it is decorated with the colors of sunrise and sunset. The Golden Gate Park celebrates the 3 mile long park behind the hotel. The Friends room is reputed to be the "most friendly room" at this inn, with bay windows looking out over Haight Street. A complimentary, continental breakfast is served each morning. The Red Vic B&B is convenient to fine dining, shopping and entertainment venues. Guests are encouraged to call the hotel if arriving after 9:00 PM.
