Including the Frans Hals Museum, Teylers Museum, the Grote Kerk (Great Church -formerly St. Bavo's Cathedral), The Stadhuis (City Hall) and the Vleeshal (Butcher's Hall). The city's center provides excellent shopping oppurtunities. You will find numerous exclusive shops as well as boutiques and department stores. If you are particularly interested in books an antiques then browse around in one of the many specialty shops. In addition, Haarlem features an attractive night life as well as pavement café's where you can sit and watch the crowd. The ' Haarlem experience' can best be enjoyed right in the heart of the city. Parking in the CentreThe magnificent city centre of Haarlem was built long before cars were invented. Consequently there is very little parking space in the narrow city centre streets. There are no longer any free parking places in the centre of Haarlem.If you come to Haarlem by car, you can park in one of the multi-storey car parks in the centre, which are open day and night. It will cost you EUR 1,50 per hour to leave your car in the car park, whilst an hour kerbside parking will cost you EUR 2,30. However, between 7 pm and 8 am you pay just EUR 2,- for the whole period or part thereof in the multi-storey car park.What is the cost if I park my car for 24-hours in one of the multi-storey car parks? EUR 18,50 A 7-days parking ticket for only EUR 35,-At the parking office at the car park entrance “Houtplein” a 12 minute walk from the hotel. At this office you can buy a 7-days parking ticket socalled "weekkaart". this card is valid for the 4 multi-storey car parks only.Where can you find these car parks?There are 5 multi-storey car parks in the centre. These car parks are signposted from the approach roads to Haarlem.Car park "Raaks" and "Appelaer" are within walking distance to the hotel approx. 250mKerbside parkingIf you choose to park at the kerbside payment is required between 9am and 10pm. You may take a ticket from a machine, or pay into a seperate meter beside your parking place. Parking is free on Sundays
