Originally designed in the 17th century as a garden called "PLANTAGE". Nowadays home for "ARTIS" one of the most beautiful city zoo's. Between 5 and 15 minutes walk from Central Station, Damsquare, Rembrandtsquare: the old citycentre of Amsterdam is very confined and approximately three kilometres wide. All the main features are located in this area. Walking in combination with public transport (good and frequent tram-, bus- and boatlines) is one of the best ways to see Amsterdam. |

Central Station)BY CAR: on the eastern section of the ringroad Amsterdam (A10) the ZOO Artis, is indicated with an sign with a little black elephant. Take exit S114 and follow the signs (little black elephants) of our neighbour the Zoo.
