In 1878, when it was announced that Alphen would be getting a train connection, a foresited Cornelis Toor immediatly began building a hotel near the site of the new station. Through the years, the hotel acquired such a strong name, particularly for its excellent kitchen, that for many a trip to Alphen was not complete without a visit to Restaurant Toor. As generations of Alpheners would agree, Toor has always managed to maintain this tradition of culinary quality. This tradition lives on today, dinner at Restaurant Toor continues to be regarded by all as a hospitable feast for the discriminating palate. |
