Cortona can be easily reached either by car or train, being served by the A1 Autostrada del Sole (Valdichiana exit), SS71 State Road and the Milan-Florence-Rome railway. BY AIR/CAR:The closest airport is Florence, but for most international flights, Rome (180km - 1.5 hour's drive) would probably be the most likely destination airport.From Rome airport join the A1 Autostrada del Sole motorway towards Florence and exit at Valdichiana. From here take the Siena-Perugia state road (towards Perugia) and follow the directions to Cortona-Camucia. Once you arrive in Camucia, follow directions to Mercatale-Pergo for another 4 km until you reach the village of Pergo. The hotel is a few hundred yards further on, on your right hand side.BY TRAIN:You can take a direct train from Milan, Florence or Rome. You have two choices of station:Terontola-Cortona railway station - 11 km from CortonaCamucia-Cortona railway station - 5km from Cortona.There is a bus service to Cortona from both stations. |
