The Nesjavellir and mount Hengill area just 25 km away from Reykjavik, is one of south Icelands main scenic nature sites. Hot steam from open craters, bubbling hot springs and dramatic landscape make the area unique.There are numerous of walking trails, ideal for light trekking, through the beautiful, mountainous geothermal areas. Nesjavellir is known for its diverse fauna and flora, hotsprings, lakes and rivers.Fosshotel Nesbud offers 20 basic rooms with shower/wc, 20 rooms without facilities (shared bathrooms on the floor), and 20 rooms for sleeping bag accommodations. In addition to the restaurant that seats between 80 and 100, the hotel has two sitting rooms (smoking and non smoking) and a meeting room for up to 40 people. Hot tubs are also available for guests enjoyment. Dogs are allowed.At Fosshotel Nesbud many possibilities exists for excursions and activities. Guests can enjoy long or short walks, boating and or fishing on Lake Thingvallavatn, horeseback riding , adventures on snowsledges in winter or sightseeing at beautiful Lake Thingvallavatn. The national park at Thingvellir, Gullfoss and Geysir as well as the fjordlandscapes of Hvajfjördur are ideal for day excursions.Fosshotel Nesbud is increasingly popular for all kind of gatherings, company outings, courses, meetings and conferencees. On Sundays between April and October Fosshotel Nesbud features its famous cake and pastries 'all you can eat' buffet.
