This live Virtual camera tour was taken from the St Paul’s Cathedral plaza in front of St Paul’s Cathredal and the Occupy London tent village on 17th November 2011. At this time, the St Paul’s Churchyard area in front of the St Paul’s cathedral was full of the tent village of the Occupy London campaign, this being the closest they could get to the London Stock Exchange which is found just north of St Paul’s. On the floor, visible in this live panorama view, was a large Monopoly board with a boot on it, symbolic of the Occupy London protest.

Although the Official Chinese New Year actually takes place on Monday 23rd January 2012, the London parade and London Chinese New Year festival in Trafalgar Square and London ChinaTown happens a little later on Sunday 29th January, with more London New Year Chinese events taking place throughout the Cityof London well into February 2012.

On 8th August 1969, the Beatles crossed the Abbey Road Zebra crossing, making the London Pedestrian crossing, on Abbey Road, the most famous road crossing in the world. Tomorrow,Saturday, 8th August 2009, a special day of events have been planned to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the famous Beatles Abbey Road Pedestrian picture that was on the cover of the Beatles Abbey Road music album.
At 11.35am, on Saturday 8th August 2009, hundreds, or maybe even thousands of Beatles music fans will cross the Abbey Road Pedestrian crossing in London, exactly 40 years to the minute since the Beatles posed on the Abbey Road zebra crossing for the picture for the front cover of their new album, and their last ever music album as the Beatles – Abbey Road .
Only six pictures were taken in all, on Saturday 8th August 1969 and the photo shoot lasted for only 10 minutes. Since then millions of people, from all over the globe, have made a pilgrimage to the Abbey Road pedestrian crossing, close to the Abbey Road Recording studio, and have posed on the crossing to recreate this iconic photo that the Beatles have made so famous. . The Beatles band, Sgt Pepper’s Only Dartboard Band, will be making a guest appearance at the Abbey Road zebra crossing, wearing replicas of the clothes that John, Paul, George and Ringo wore when they posed for that iconic picture for the cover of their Abbey Road music album, 40 years earlier.

The Political leaders of the Group of 20, or G20, the world’s most powerful countries meet in London on Thursday 2nd April 2009 – and top of their agenda will be the current global economic crisis.
Because of the London G20 Summit, the police security levels have been dramatically increased throughout London as campaign groups and protesters are planning protest marches and demonstrations in a number of central London locations to coincide with the G20 Summit 2009 in London, England. Disrupting London businesses, people, commuters, tourists and potentially causing traffic chaos in many areas of the UK’s capital city.

Thursday 4th December 2008 sees the Trafalgar Square Christmas tree lighting ceremony taking place in Trafalgar Square. At 6pm on Thursday 4th December. The Lord Mayor of Westminster and the Mayor of Oslo will officially switch on the Christmas tree lights on the 20 metres high Norwegian Spruce tree.
Each Christmas since 1947 a Christmas tree has been given to the people of London from the people of Norway in gratitude for Britain’s support of Norway during World War 2. The Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Trafalgar Square which is always followed by carol-singing by the Choir of St Martin-in-the-Fields. Many Londoner’s see the Christmas tree lighting ceremony as the start of the countdown to Christmas.

Latest Batman movie, Dark Knight, had it’s European film premiere at the London Odeon cinema in the heart of Leicester Square in London on Monday 21st July 2008. Dark Knight has already taken the US box office by storm since it’s earlier film release in the States. Thousands of film fans waited outside the Bat-emblazoned Odeon cinema to watch the many A-list film stars and celebrities attend the the much awaited London film premiere for the latest Batman movie. Our Leicester Square streaming video camera was live in action for online coverage of the movie stars and celebs arrive for red carpet treatment at the London Odeon cinema. Our popular Leicester Square London Film Premiere webcam allowed Mama Mia film fans around the world to watch live webcam coverage of the recent London World Film Premiere of the big screen adaptation of the musical, Mama Mia. Our Leicester Square streaming camera overlooking the front of the London Odeon cinema, was able to film the stars of Mama Mia and celebs arriving for the world film premiere of Mama Mia at the end of June 2008. Film stars Maryl Streep, Pierce Brosman, Colin Firth, Amanda Seyfried and Julie Waters were a number of the many film stars, and celebs, that attended the world premiere of musical film, Mama Mia. Also in attendance, was Abba superstar, Björn Ulvaeus and his wife Frida. Original Abba member, Bjorn Ulvaeus, also co-produced the Mama Mia film.
For Abba fans, and film buffs that missed the live webcam action from our London Leicester Square camera at the Mama Mia world film premiere, we were able to record some of the film premiere highlights from our London webcam.
