The small Scottish Dumfrieshire town of Gretna hosted a total number of 69 weddings because of the lucky date of 08.08.08. Wedding couples from as far away as Australia, South Africa, Mauritius and throughout the UK and Europe gathered at Gretna Green to get married on the 8th of the 8th month 2008. A date that many bridegrooms will not forget for their future wedding anniversaries!!!

The world famous Gretna wedding venues, The Blacksmiths Workshop, the Linton wedding room and the Blacksmith Cottage wedding room hosted the majority of the 69 weddings at Gretna Green on Friday 8th August 2008. Making it a very busy day for the wedding staff at the Blacksmiths wedding venues at Gretna Green.

Because of the large number of weddings at the Blacksmiths Cottage, their was considerable media coverage in Gretna Green to mark the lucky day for many of the 69 couples getting married at Scotland’s leading wedding venue. Camvista is operating a new Gretna wedding cam at Gretna Green in Scotland. This wedding webcam is overlooking the Blacksmiths Courtyard at Gretna Green. There are three wedding rooms at the Blacksmiths Courtyard. The world famous Blacksmiths Workshop, the Linton wedding room and the Blacksmith Cottage wedding room. Over 4,500 couples get married every year at the three wedding rooms at the Blacksmiths Courtyard. Many of the weddings at Gretna Green take place on Friday afternoons and at various times throughout Saturdays.

Gordon Forbes, wedding ceremony co-ordinator and honorary wedding Blacksmith was interviwed on the KHQ morning news programme via the Gretna streaming webcam and by speaking on telephone.

Television viewers in the Washington area of the USA were able to view Gordon Forbes live on television from a feed from the wedding web cam at Gretna and listen to him answering questions about weddings at the Blacksmiths workshop in Gretna Green for the morning news programme by speaking on the telephone. No requirements for a Television film crew to visit Gretna Green to allow the television interview to be broadcasted to KHQ viewers in Washington USA.

The Gretna Green wedding cam, is not only great for people watching weddings live online, but can also be used for live television interviews around the world. A great way to promote weddings at Gretna to a live television audience.
